Scheduled . . . to the hilt.

I'm looking at my calendar right now and it makes me a little anxious. It's not white anymore. For the next two weeks it looks like this:

Don't get me wrong. I am looking forward to working at the library (enjoying it greatly so far)--and I can't wait to spend time out at Hewitt Trussville Middle teaching/observing this semester. But. The schedule is looking a little hairy. It repeats like this until the end of the semester.

I like busy. In fact I prefer busy. But I'm worried about fitting in my runs/bikes/swims (not to mention studying) that I need to be hitting this time of year. These are some spread out, long days--and this schedule doesn't reflect the 30+-minute commute to/from T-ville.

There seems to only be one consistent solution--one that I've resisted for the last two years because the thought of it makes me cringe. Early morning workouts. Yuck. I love to sleep. I need to sleep. I'm not more of a night person or a morning person--I like to go to bed early and get up no earlier than 6 am if possible (except for those extremely early long runs). Something is going to have to give though with this schedule and I'm afraid it's going to be sleep.

These are exciting times for me--full of new professional challenges and opportunities. Maintaining my running schedule is important though so I guess I'll just have to learn how to be an early early riser.

So, consider the inbox open (shoot me an E-mail or leave a comment). Anybody have any suggestions for making getting up early (i.e. 4:30/5 am) on the weekdays any easier?

Downside . . . my alarm clock is about to start going off at 4:30 am. Upside . . . I'm thrilled to start spending time at HTMS! (and my coffee pot has an alarm on it).

I will let the dogs out anytime you need me to. I could also run errands for you. I work for very cheap.

not supposed to be anonymous. I hit the wrong button.

Why thank you very much, Anonymous! I appreciate your generous offer. I think I'll be making pit stops between shifts (Trussville/Library/Class) to find some food, puppy love, and catch a glimpse of my hubby.

But if the bottom drops out I know who to call. ;^)

Well, if getting lost in the rain on your first day at Trussville is the way you must start this crazy schedule, then I guess things can only improve from here ; )

Luckily it's only two weeks. You can do it!

Also, I want to send a BIG shout out to Janet Gregg. You are going to do well at the 5K.

Thanks, Summer :). It's actually for the rest of the semester . . . but I know I can do it. Thanks for the encouragement!
