White Noise

We've been off the grid since we got back from vacation. The cable company ripped out our cable and apparently forgot to re-connect it. I haven't missed the news one bit--who needs to know how much gas has risen or how high the Ham's murder rate really is?

On a training front we've been getting ready for the Chattanooga Waterfront Triathlon this Sunday. This is an Olympic distance event--1.5 K swim (down the river), 26 mile bike, 6 mile run. I'm in over my head--but that's not new to me. We're going with a couple of tri-buddies--C. & B. Should be a quick, fun trip. My goal is only to finish--maybe not absolutely last--and without getting sick.

This week has held a 14-mile run for J, 6 for me. Two swimming sessions for me. An RPM and BP class for us both. We're planning on resting up for the rest of the week.

As C. said yesterday . . . "This is J. and Kate . . . they have this interesting habit of jumping right into things. Kate has only been on her bike about 5 times" (I've been on it a little more than that--but not much.)

Downside . . . we get in over our heads sometimes. Upside . . . Ain't skeered.
